Commil Demonstrates Real-life Bluetooth Enterprise Applications at CeBIT 2002
Presenting the CellarionTM system, connecting Bluetooth headset and PDA wireless devices to the office phone and data systems

Commil Ltd. announced today that it will be presenting the building blocks of its CellarionTM Bluetooth network system, in Hall 13 Stand A20 at CeBIT2002, March 13 - 20. The CellarionTM system, a carrier-grade communication infrastructure, utilizes innovative access points and gateways, to bring true wireless networking connectivity and mobility to off-the-shelf mobile devices equipped with the standard Bluetooth chip. Serving as an indoor extension of the data and telephony infrastructure, it creates a reliable ‘cellular-like’ Bluetooth network that supports roaming and seamless session handover for office buildings, shopping malls and airport terminals.

Commil will demonstrate real-life cases of the Bluetooth wireless technology in the enterprise environment. These include making phone calls from a standard office telephone extension to a Bluetooth cordless headset as well as vice versa: initiating a phone call from a Bluetooth cordless headset to a desk phone. In addition, Commil will demonstrate the use of a PDA with “Bluetooth inside” as a cordless phone that can accept or initiate phone calls or play high quality audio and video streaming received via the Bluetooth wireless link.

“Our cost-effective CellarionTM system enables truly mobile, uninterrupted communication to the cellular system, Internet, LAN, and PBX of the enterprise,” says Mr. Amnon Steiner, Commil’s VP of Marketing. “Our demonstration clearly shows the variety of applications and the advantages to cellular operators, corporations and in-building service providers. CeBIT 2002 gives us an excellent opportunity to reach hundreds of communications professionals and demonstrate our unique technology and network infrastructure, which can be easily integrated into the corporate or public data and phone systems.”
