Siemens AG Austria announces the arrival of "
blue2net " in Europe
New Siemens LAN access point provides wireless data
communication to PDAs and notebooks via Bluetooth
Siemens AG Austria, a leading developer of products and
solutions for radio and communication devices, today announced the launch of
blue2net, a Bluetooth LAN access point ideal for the SME (small & medium
enterprise) & SoHo (small office home office) market, a product designed
to offer access to all LAN (Local Area Network) and Internet resources and
services.
blue2net allows up to 7 users or devices to connect
simultaneously within a range of 10-30 metres. The access point is
compatible with all well-known brands of Bluetooth-enabled devices and is
easily configured via a simple web user interface. Fully upgradeable,
blue2net uses embedded Linux, has both an integrated WEB server and firewall
and supports DHCP.
blue2net makes a wide variety of wireless applications
possible: Ideal for travellers, the access point is an excellent means of
providing instant information to passengers equipped with mobile devices,
whilst waiting in airport lounges or train stations. In an office situation,
blue2net enables mobile workers to synchronise data quickly and in comfort.
blue2net is immediately available through distribution
channels at a suggested retail price of 399 Euros (incl. VAT). The PSE Pro
division of Siemens AG offers development support for integration, approval
and qualification, enabling manufacturers to achieve shortest time to
market.
