Red-M
shows first complete wirelessware
solution integrating 802.11 and
Bluetooth networks
Genos™ wirelessware brings secure
connectivity and management to
multi-technology voice and data wireless
networks
Wexham
Springs, UK
(December 5,
2001) –
Red-M™, a
pioneer in
advanced
wireless
networking
solutions, today
announces that
it is showcasing
Genos
wirelessware
technology at
the Moscone
Center in San
Francisco from
December 10. The
demonstration
heralds the
future of
wireless
networking by
simultaneously
integrating
802.11 wireless
LAN and
Bluetooth,
creating a
seamless user
experience in a
highly secure
environment.
Red-M will
demonstrate a
mixed, secure,
802.11 WLAN and
Bluetooth
network
controlled by
Genos, and
accessed by a
number of data
and
voice-enabled
edge devices
such as:
laptops,
cordless
telephony
profile (CTP)
mobile phones
and personal
digital
assistants
(PDA’s).
Genos
wirelessware is
the first
wireless network
architecture to
offer a level of
security that
fully meets the
needs of
commercial
networks, while
bringing a host
of other
features to a
wireless
network,
including the
ability to push
information to
users’ end
point devices in
a format best
suited to that
device. Genos
features secure
user
authentication,
access control
and session
management to
enable complete
control over a
corporate
network.
Genos boasts a
high degree of
flexibility and
scalability
allowing it to
encompass future
developments in
wireless
technology such
as 802.11a or
802.11g. This
enables
companies to
future-proof and
protect their
infrastructure
investment and
move forward
with wireless
network
deployment
without
committing to
proprietary
solutions.
Simon Gawne,
vice-president
and co-founder
of Red-M
comments:
“Genos is the
next step in the
wireless
journey,
enabling a
multi-technology
environment
which allows
users to benefit
from the
inherent
advantages of
both 802.11 and
Bluetooth. Genos
also provides
the security
that is
essential to
drive widespread
adoption of
wireless
networks.
Gawne continues,
“Genos
wirelessware
stands at the
centre of
converging
communications,
acting as a
linchpin to
complementary
technologies and
devices. Genos
opens up a world
where phones,
PDA’s,
camcorders, 3G,
Bluetooth, LANS
and WLANS can
all interconnect
in an easily
managed and very
secure
environment. The
end result is a
cost effective
and seamless
experience for
users, which
opens up vastly
improved
mobility at all
levels of
communications.”
Red-M will be
exhibiting at
